Known for his outstanding performances, Vijay Devarakonda has had a lot of setbacks at the box office lately. Even though his movie “Kushi” did rather well at the box office, his other recent releases haven’t done as well. Although he has a track record of drawing large crowds at the beginning, his most recent endeavor as a family star has encountered significant difficulties from the beginning.
Even with the blockbuster combination of “Geetha Govindam” fame and the popular actress Mrunal Thakur, along with the backing of producer Dilraju, the film failed to generate much excitement among audiences. Word-of-mouth reviews were below average, leading to disastrous opening figures.
The film’s opening numbers pale in comparison to Vijay Devarakonda’s other successful ventures like “Kushi,” “Liger,” and “Dear Comrade.” What’s even more surprising is that the opening numbers for his family star film are lower than those of his previous flops like “Nota” and “World Famous Lover.” Nota and the world-famous lover collected 4.5 crore shares on the first day. In Telugu states, whereas Family Star openings are in the range of only 4 crore.
The film’s team remains optimistic, citing positive responses from family audiences, but current booking numbers are not encouraging. With a breakeven point set at 45 crore, it’s clear that the film needs a miracle to turn things around and satisfy its buyers.
