2024 has been a landmark year for many Bollywood stars, with a few of them shining brightly with superhits at home, while other talents made waves in international films and web series. However, there have been a few big names who remained away from the limelight, with no single release to their names this year. From the Khans to Ranbir Kapoor, here’s a list of Bollywood actors we missed watching on the big screen in 2024.

1.  Salman Khan

Bollywood’s most bankable star, Salman Khan, although he had no releases this year, remained in the news for unfavorable reasons. The actor who every year dominates screens across the nation with his Eid releases was sorely missed in 2024, with fans missing the Bollywood hero dearly. Meanwhile, Salman had two releases in 2023 – Tiger 3 and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and a cameo in SRK starrer Pathaan. Both movies made moderate numbers at the box office. Fans can see their beloved star next year in the action-packed entertainer Sikandar, which is slated to release in 2025 on Eid.

2. Shah Rukh Khan

2023 was undoubtedly dominated by the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan. The star had three back-to-back blockbusters, including Pathaan, Dunki, and Jawan, but this year the superstar chose to step away from the spotlight. The Bollywood actor was not in the movies in 2024, and his absence was deeply felt by his fans. However, the actor is planning a loyal comeback in 2026 in style with his daughter in the movie titled King. The action-thriller is directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and both the father-daughter duo will be seen doing some deadly stunts.

3. Aamir Khan

The next Bollywood star we missed this year is Aamir Khan. His absence was deeply felt as the actor had promised to return to the screen with his next titled Sitaare Zameen Par alongside Genelia Deshmukh. However, the film’s release has been postponed, and everyone is waiting for the film’s release date announcement. He was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, which released in 2022 and remained in the news for producing Laapaata Ladies this year. Aamir is known for putting his soul in the story and delivering thought-provoking performances; the perfectionist was dearly missed by fans this year.

4. Ayushmann Khurrana

The poster boy for unconventional and offbeat cinema, Ayushmaan Khurrana is another Bollywood actor without a single movie in 2024. After a hit in 2023 with Dream Girl 2, the versatile star surprisingly had a low-key 2024 with no major releases. However, as fans hope to see him in 2025, let us tell you that the actor is currently working on two films: one is untitled, while the other is a horror-comedy named Thama. Let’s hope his presence next year will bring some path-breaking movies.

5. Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood chocolate boy Ranbir Kapoor, known for his intense acting chops and good looks, was another Bollywood actor who stayed out of the limelight in 2024. He had a stellar 2023 with two blockbuster films, namely the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and the action thriller Animal, which became the highest-grossing film of that year. His absence from the big screen in 2024 definitely made his fans long to witness his impeccable performance, but there’s nothing to worry about, as the superstar is currently filming for his two major projects—Ramayan Part 1 and Love and War, both scheduled for a 2026 release.

6. Ranveer Singh

Famous Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, known for his bomb energy, was seen absent in 2024, and we literally missed his bold outfits, electrifying performances, and quirky promotions. Even though the star had a cameo in Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, that was not enough for his fans. The actor had a successful 2023 with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani that went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year. However, there is good news, as Ranveer will be seen in 2025 in Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar.

7. Emraan Hashmi

In the list of Bollywood heroes missing from the big screen, 2024 is Emraan Hashmi. The actor had two releases in 2023—Selfiee and Tiger 3—but he was a little missed in 2024 as audiences thought that the actor was completely back in form. Although the actor had a small role in Sara Ali Khan’s OTT release, Ae Watan Mere Watan, which wasn’t satisfying at all. Fans miss his intense performance and the uniqueness that he brings to his roles. But the star will be seen in 2025 making his Tollywood debut opposite Pawan Kalyan in the movie They Call Him OG and Goodachari 2. We hope the actor will impress us all with his new venture.
