Summer Box-office: Will Tollywood’s Big Releases Make the Cut?

In the world of Telugu cinema, timing is crucial for movie releases, especially during holidays like Sankranti, Dasara, and summer. ‘Hanu-Man‘ recently successful during the Sankranti season, while other films like ‘Guntur Karam‘, ‘Saindhav‘, and ‘Naa Saami Ranga‘ faced mixed receptions and ended up on OTT platforms.

Now, attention turns to the upcoming summer season, which typically sees a flurry of big releases from April onwards. However, this year presents a unique situation. While there’s a buzz around projects like ‘Pushpa 2‘, ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘, and ‘Devara‘, uncertainties loom over their release dates due to ongoing production challenges and delays.

‘Game Changer‘, featuring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar, is also in the works, but updates on its progress remain scarce. Amidst this uncertainty, two films, ‘Family Star‘ starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, and ‘Tillu Square‘ starring Siddu Jonnalagadda, are set to release in April and March respectively.

With major releases facing potential postponements, these two films have an opportunity for a successful run at the box office, provided they garner positive feedback. The industry eagerly awaits to see how these developments unfold in the coming months.
