As he defends his kiss with Avneet Kaur, Nawazuddin Siddiqui asserts that the younger generation is uninformed about the meaning of romance.
After the Tiku Weds Sheru teaser was released, Nawazuddin Siddiqui faced a lot of reaction from the people because he was shown sharing a kiss with his co-star, Avneet Kaur, who is only 21 years old. The actor, 49, finally spoke out about the incident, defending his kiss with the woman while drawing analogies to Shah Rukh Khan.
Social media users criticized the movie’s performers and directors as well as Kaur’s parents for letting her perform that scene. Avneet has worked in the entertainment sector since he was a very early age and is a highly well-known figure on social media.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has been going through a difficult period in his personal life lately, has spoken out about the negative feedback he received for his kissing scene in the Kangana Ranaut-produced movie Tiku Weds Sheru. In an interview with India Today, Nawaz spoke candidly about it and offered no qualms about his defense. He said, “We are from the times when romance was something else. We would be in love and be in ‘ishq’ for years.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui continued, “Today, Shah Rukh Khan continues to do romantic roles because the young generation is ‘all’. They don’t know romance.” The Tiku Weds Sheru actor did not stop at that as he continued his thoughts on the current generation’s notion of love. Speaking of that, he said, “Everything today happens on WhatsApp, be it love or break up. There is a reason behind this. People who have lived in romance can do romance. Who else will do it?”
Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, is scheduled to debut on Amazon Prime Video on June 23.
