TheatrePukar is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language action film, directed by Ramesh Behl, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Randhir Kapoor, Zeenat Aman and Tina Munim. It is a film about freedom fighters trying to liberate Goa from the Portuguese.
Scenes of the film were shot in Daman and Diu.
PLOT
Amitabh Bachchan, the quintessential angry young man, plays a person caught in two minds in ‘Pukar’, a movie dealing with freedom fighters in Goa trying to gain independence from Portuguese rule. Bachchan plays the role of Ronnie, a gangster who was initially named Ramdas.
He saw his revolutionary father killed by other revolutionaries, and since then has tried to quell the rebellion against the Portuguese government.
