Story:

Om-Chapter 1: Udhiram: The Blood Wood is the title of Dhanush’s 55th film, which Wunderbar Films announced on June 18 along with the promo and release date. The Tamil movie is scheduled to open in theaters across the globe on October 16, 2026. A potential multi-chapter franchise is suggested by the movie’s title. The preview, which lasts about two and a half minutes, begins with images of mountains, forests, and a temple town before switching to a fight in a jungle that is drenched in rain. When Dhanush intervenes to save woodcutters and laborers who are being held at gunpoint by police in the teaser, the action-packed battle scene is enhanced by the film’s powerful soundtrack. Rajkumar Periasamy, who previously helmed Amaran (2024), is the film’s writer and director. He and Dhanush are working together for the first time on this project. Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela are among the cast members of the movie. The film features cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, editing by Kalaivanan R, costumes by Kavya Sriram, and music by Sai Abhyankkar, who most recently collaborated on RJ Balaji’s Karuppu. Wunderbar Films, in collaboration with RTake Studios, is producing the movie.
