Story:

Hey Sinamika is a Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Brinda, marking her directorial debut, and produced by Jio Studios and Global One Studios. Adapted from the 2008 Argentine film A Boyfriend for My Wife, the film switches the roles and draws inspiration for its title from a song in Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani (2015).

The cast includes Dulquer Salmaan and Aditi Rao Hydari as a married couple, with Kajal Aggarwal as a relationship counselor and Nakshatra Nagesh as a radio jockey. The music is composed by Govind Vasantha. Initially set for release on February 12, 2021, as a Valentine’s Day special, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India and eventually hit theaters on March 3, 2022.

The plot centers on Mouna and Yaazhan, whose marriage quickly sours, prompting Mouna to devise a plan to make Yaazhan fall for another woman. She enlists their counselor, Malarvizhi, to woo him but finds herself in a dilemma when love unexpectedly blossoms. Although the film received positive reviews, it did not perform well at the box office. It was later released on Netflix and JioCinema on March 31, 2022.
