Story:

“Baby” is a romantic drama movie in the Telugu language, released in 2023. It’s a coming-of-age story directed and written by Sai Rajesh Neelam. Produced by Sreenivasa Kumar Naidu under Mass Movie Makers, the film stars Anand Devarakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and Viraj Ashwin in the main roles.

Plot

Anand and Vaishnavi are both born into middle-class families. Vaishnavi admires Anand and observes his actions closely, leaving an impression on her during their time at school. Anand becomes aware of Vaishnavi’s feelings through his friends and reciprocates her affection. They eventually develop romantic feelings for each other. After their exams, Vaishnavi starts attending college, where she crosses paths with Viraj, a wealthy young man. Despite coming from a middle-class background, Vaishnavi is drawn to Viraj’s lavish lifestyle and spends time with him. Taking advantage of the situation, Viraj falls in love with Vaishnavi. In an unexpected turn of events, Vaishnavi kisses Viraj, causing a sudden emotional turmoil for Anand. This incident creates a rift between Anand and Vaishnavi.

The story explores the reasons behind Vaishnavi’s actions and delves into the subsequent transformation of Anand, Vaishnavi, and Viraj’s lives. The narrative revolves around who Vaishnavi ultimately chooses to love, leading to significant changes in their destinies.

Release

On July 14, 2023, “Baby” had its theatrical release, and starting from August 25, 2023, the streaming rights for the movie’s post-theatrical run were secured by Aha for online streaming.

Box-Office

Within ten days of being in theaters, the movie has accumulated a global box office revenue of ₹60.40 crore, out of which the distributors’ portion amounts to ₹31.71 crore. This results in an overall gain of ₹23.71 crore. In its domestic market (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states in India), the film has achieved a total earnings of ₹51.10 crore, with distributors receiving ₹27.85 crore.
