In this age, non-theatrical rights have become more rewarding than theatrical rights, given that there are so many platforms that are ready to buy your film for telecasting or streaming, and there have been many instances where early streaming rights have saved filmmakers, very recently in fact.
With such being the case, it is truly a shock that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming movie, Godfather, hasn’t really excelled with its non-theatrical rights. Sources have revealed that Godfather has closed all of its non-theatrical rights to the tune of Rs. 100 Crores, which is very less, even when compared to the film’s budget, which is Rs. 135 Crores. Given that the film features a huge cast led by none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi, it truly is a shock.
On the other hand, the film is a remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer, and is directed by Mohan Raja. Nayantara, Satya Dev and Salman Khan will be seen in key roles in the film, which is all set to be released on Octoebr 5th, for Dasara.
