After a string of flops, Salman Khan and A.R. Murugadoss joined forces for Sikandar. With low expectations and weak promotions, the film made headlines when its HD print leaked online on release day. Did they finally deliver a hit? Let’s find out!

Sikandar Review

Sikandar Movie Story: Rajkot Maharaja Sanjay, also known as Sikandar (Salman Khan), moves to Mumbai after his wife, Sai Shree (Rashmika Mandanna) dies unexpectedly. There, he fearlessly protects three individuals.

Who are they? Why does Sikandar go to great lengths to save them? And why does Minister Pradhan want him dead? Sikandar holds the answers!

Performances: Salman Khan impresses in action but struggles in emotional scenes. Rashmika Mandanna plays the wife role well, but her chemistry with Salman doesn’t work. Kajal Aggarwal is underutilized, and Sathyaraj’s villain role feels generic. Supporting actors like Sharman Joshi and Prateik Babbar deliver decent performances, but the film lacks depth.

Technical Aspects: Santosh Narayanan’s background score and some action sequences are the film’s highlights, but overall, the technical aspects are underwhelming. Poor DI affects the cinematography, reducing its impact. Salman Khan’s action scenes, especially the Dharavi fight and flight intro, entertain his fans.

However, A.R. Murugadoss presents a weak screenplay filled with illogical and unrealistic moments. A billionaire with political connections engaging in street fights, a wanted terrorist roaming freely in Mumbai, and a minister being taken down effortlessly, these absurdities make the film hard to take seriously. Murugadoss, once known for sensible filmmaking, disappoints with this poorly executed commercial entertainer.

Analysis: It’s true that people watch Salman Khan’s films for him, not logic. While his fight sequences are well-executed, they lack strong reasoning and emotional depth. If the audience doesn’t connect with why he’s fighting, even the most intense action scenes lose impact. Due to this missing emotional connection, Sikandar ends up as just an average film.

Verdict: Sikandar has impressive action sequences, but weak storytelling and lack of emotional depth make it an average film. Salman Khan shines in fights, but the narrative falls short.

Bottom Line: Weak story overshadows solid action.

Rating: 2/5
