Yana Gupta

Yana Gupta, originally named Jana Synková, was born on April 23, 1979, in Brno, South Moravian Region, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). Her childhood was marked by her parents’ divorce, and she was raised alongside her sister by her single mother.

Her journey in the world of modeling began when she was just 16 years old. After completing her education in Park Architecture and Gardening, Yana decided to pursue her modeling career in Japan. However, her destiny eventually led her to India, where she spent her initial years at the ashram of Rajneesh in Pune. It was during this period that she married artist Satyakam Gupta, adopting the last name Gupta as her own.

In 2001, Yana Gupta made her foray into the Indian modeling industry and achieved the status of the brand ambassador for Lakme, one of India’s largest cosmetic brands. Her entry into Bollywood came in 2002 when she featured in the popular song “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo” from the film “Dum.” She also appeared in an item song in the Telugu film “Gharshana,” starring Venkatesh.

In 2009, Yana Gupta extended her horizons by releasing a book on health titled “How To Love Your Body And Get The Body You Love.” She also ventured into the music industry, releasing her own music album. In 2011, she returned to the world of item songs with an appearance in the movie “Murder 2.”

Notably, Yana Gupta faced controversy in 2010 when she was photographed without underwear at a children’s charity event. She attributed this incident to a wardrobe malfunction, while some critics perceived it as a publicity stunt.

Yana Gupta further explored her talents by participating in TV shows like “Bigg Boss 6” and “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,” where she reached the finale but lost to Meiyang Chang. After making appearances in various television programs, she returned to the film industry with an item song in the 2018 film “Dassehra” titled “Joganiya.”
