Vinay Waikul

Biography:

Vinay Waikul is an Indian film director, writer, and filmmaker. He has made his name through his involvement with Hindi films as well as digital entertainment. He started off as an assistant director working on many acclaimed Bollywood movies like Swades (2004), Shikhar (2005), Bas Ek Pal (2006), Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2007), Ghajini (2008), 3 Idiots (2009), Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013), and Dangal (2016).

His long years of experience as an assistant director have allowed him to develop his signature storytelling style, even before stepping into directing.

He got into directing when he became the director of the military thriller of ALTBalaji titled The Test Case (2018) and followed it up with ISRO-based series Mission Over Mars (2019). He got popular as the director of the mystery thriller on Netflix titled Aranyak (2021) starring Raveena Tandon and also for being the director of the drama series, The Broken News (2022-2024), where he was not only a director but also a writer and developer.

Vinay Waikul’s style of story-telling includes grounded stories and realistic characters, along with a mix of mystery and suspense. His works include some successful series on crime, mystery, drama, and social issues.
