Vijay Lalwani

Biography:

Vijay Lalwani is an Indian filmmaker, writer and producer. Before moving into the world of movies and television shows, he was a renowned creative director in the field of advertising. Some of the topmost agencies he worked for during his career include Ogilvy & Mather, McCann Erickson, and Young & Rubicam. His experience in advertising allowed him to hone his distinctive visual style and method of telling stories, which prompted him to move on to making feature films and scripts.

His first project as a director was a psychological thriller named Karthik Calling Karthik (2010). The lead actors were Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone. It became well-received for its original plot, psychological depth and stylish visuals. Afterwards he moved into the OTT space by creating and directing The Final Call, a series of thrillers released in 2019 on the platform ZEE5 and based on the novel I Will Go With You written by Priya Kumar. The main cast included such renowned actors as Arjun Rampal, Sakshi Tanwar, Neeraj Kabi and Javed Jaffrey.

Intricate combination of psychological aspects and popular entertainment has been one of his hallmarks ever since.
