Farmiga, Vera Ann American actress born August 6, 1973. She made her stage debut as a professional actor in the 1996 Broadway original of Taking Sides. Her breakout role as a drug addict in the drama Down to the Bone (2004) followed her forays into television and films. After that, she starred in the historical drama The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (2008), the criminal drama The Departed (2006), and the political thriller The Manchurian Candidate (2004). Because to her roles in the horror flicks Joshua (2007) and Orphan (2009), she also became known as a scream queen.
Farmiga received several honours, including an Academy Award nomination, for her role in the comedy-drama Up in the Air (2009). After that, she directed her first drama film, Higher Ground (2011), in which she played the lead. Before enhancing her reputation as a scream queen by playing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren in the Conjuring Universe films The Conjuring (2013), The Conjuring 2 (2016), Annabelle Comes Home (2019), The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), and The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025), she starred in the thrillers Source Code (2011) and Safe House (2012).
