Vedshanker is a composer from India. A former pupil of the school of A. R. Rahman. He debuted in the Tamil movie Paalai (2010) before achieving success with Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (2012). Ved Shankar, a student at A. R. Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory, was one of 15 students chosen by the U.S. Department of State in 2009 to study music at Northeastern University’s Fusion Arts Exchange in Boston. After that, he received training as a sound designer and, while pursuing his MBA at IIPM in Chennai, was nominated for the 2012 META award for Most Innovative Sound Design. He worked on the album for Madhubana Kadai (2012) after completing his debut album for the historical drama Paalai (2011).
Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, which received positive reviews and did well at the box office, was Ved Shankar’s big break. Additionally, his performance in the promotional song “Crazy Penne” with Andrea Jeremiah received praise from critics, and in 2012, Behindwoods.com listed him among the best music directors in their year-end rating.
