Varun Unni

Biography:

Varun Unni, an accomplished Indian composer and singer, primarily focuses on composing music for television commercials.

Despite his background, he ventured into feature film composition, making his debut with the 2012 Malayalam film “Annum Innum Ennum.”

Born on July 15, 1989, in Kochi, Kerala, Varun completed his schooling at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, and pursued engineering at Adi Shankara College of Engineering, Kalady.

Despite lacking a film background, Varun always aspired to delve into film music. He honed his skills at Kalabhavan and collaborated with bands such as Highway Haze and Flying Squad.

.Influenced by artists like Bob Marley and Eric Clapton, Varun’s debut composition “Ayyo” from “Annum Innum Ennum” garnered attention, despite the film’s box office performance.

Following this, he shifted his focus to composing jingles for advertisement films, collaborating with renowned brands like Chemmanur and MCR.

In 2017, Varun’s talent earned him an offer to compose for the Kannada film “Kempegowda-2,” which received positive reviews.

This success led to more opportunities in the Kannada film industry, including the film “Kongka Pass,” continuing his successful journey as a composer in Indian cinema.
