Vanisri, originally named Rathna Kumari, is a revered Indian actress renowned for her contributions to Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada cinema. Over a remarkable career spanning four decades, she has garnered acclaim and accolades, including three Filmfare Awards South, Nandi Awards, and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award.

Her cinematic journey commenced with the 1962 Telugu film “Bhishma,” marking the inception of a prolific career. Vanisri’s talent and versatility became evident early on, particularly with notable supporting roles in films such as “Sukha Dukhalu” and “Marapurani Katha,” both scripted by the legendary K. Balachander.

Throughout her illustrious career, Vanisri graced the silver screen with stellar performances in several blockbuster hits, including “Krishnaveni,” “Prem Nagar,” “Dussehra Bullodu,” “Aradhana,” “Jeevitha Chakram,” “Rangula Ratnam,” “Sri Krishna Tulabharam,” “Bhakta Kannappa,” and the iconic “Bobbili Raja.”
