V. Azhagappan

Biography:

Indian screenwriter and filmmaker Vendhampatti Azhagappan has directed and written screenplays for Tamil movies. He became well-known for directing the 1985 romantic drama film Aagaya Thamaraigal, which starred Suresh and Revathi.

Since then, he has continued to direct movies in the same genre. Throughout his career, Azhagappan frequently worked with Suresh and actor Ramarajan. Ramarajan’s wife Nalini Ramarajan produced his last film, Poomaname Vaa (1999), under the Nalini Cine Arts label.

The movie was billed as the actor’s 40th and director’s 11th during production, but V. Azhagappan was eventually assigned the role. Other performers including Chandrasekhar, Manorama, and Santhana Bharathi were part of the original cast but were later cut out.
