Tyler Williams is a multi-talented filmmaker, actor, and stuntman with a strong background in action cinema. Holding an Honours BFA from Ryerson University, he has carved out a diverse career spanning independent filmmaking, commercial directing, and stunt performance. While he has made significant contributions to film and television, his greatest success has come from the world of advertising, where he has directed high-impact campaigns for major brands through Untitled Films.
His directorial work includes the Molson Canadian commercial Project Indonesia, which aired during the 2014 Winter Olympics and quickly gained nearly 2 million views on YouTube. He also directed Mastercard’s Priceless Surprises, a campaign featuring Justin Timberlake that amassed an impressive 29 million online views. Another standout project was Gillette’s Go Ask Dad, which garnered over 6 million YouTube views, won a Bronze Lion at Cannes, and received coverage from prestigious outlets such as Vanity Fair and Esquire.
Beyond his work in advertising, Tyler has a deep passion for martial arts and action filmmaking. A lifelong martial artist, he holds a black belt in Woo Gar Mo Sut and continues to refine his expertise in fight choreography and stunts. His independent short films have received multiple accolades at festivals across North America, with All-In being a notable success. This action-packed short premiered at the Action On Film Festival in Los Angeles and was screened at festivals in Toronto, New York, Las Vegas, Grand Rapids, and Boston. It earned awards for Best Fight Choreography and Male Action Performer of the Year, along with nominations for Best Stunts, Best Editing, and Best Short Film.
Following the success of All-In, Tyler is now set to take his creative vision to the next level by producing and directing his first feature film, expanding on the characters and story he originally brought to life in the short. With a strong foundation in both the artistic and technical aspects of action filmmaking, he is well-positioned to make a lasting impact on the industry.
