Actor and voice actor Tom Canton is British-Irish. In the 2010 short film Shitkicker, Canton made his feature film acting debut. Casting for the television shows Wasted and The Collection, as well as the miniseries Death Comes to Pemberley and Houdini and Doyle, came next. He made an appearance in an Endeavour television series episode in 2019. In 2019, he gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the Elf King Filavandrel in the Netflix series The Witcher, a role he continued to play until 2023. After 10 episodes, the character departed the show due to his death in the third season. He provided the same voice in the animated movie The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf in 2021.
Canton was a theatre actor who appeared in plays at several venues, including the Gate Theatre, the Abbey Theatre, and the Almeida Theatre. In the latter, he portrayed both Sir Robert Brakenbury and the Earl of Richmond in Shakespeare’s Richard III. On July 21, 2016, the film version of the work was released.
