Thomas Hakim

Biography:

Thomas Hakim is a renowned producer known for his work on All We Imagine as Light (2024), A Night of Knowing Nothing (2021), and Still Waiting (2018). He co-founded Petit Chaos with Julien Graff in 2018, following his experience as a production manager and producer with companies like Geko Films and Why Not. Hakim collaborates with directors from diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds, spanning countries such as France, India, Rwanda, China, and Vietnam.

He has produced short films that have been featured in prestigious festivals, including IFFR, Clermont-Ferrand, Indie Lisboa, Palm Springs, and Dok Leipzig. His first feature production, Payal Kapadia’s A Night of Knowing Nothing, premiered at the 2021 Directors’ Fortnight, where it won the Golden Eye award for Best Documentary. The film went on to be showcased at over 90 festivals, secured releases in five countries, and won 18 awards.

Hakim has actively participated in several industry platforms, including Cinemart, Sheffield Doc Market, Atlas Workshops, and FidLab. He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents, the Indaba Creative Producers Program, and Locarno’s Match Me! initiative. His dedication to fostering cross-cultural and artistic collaborations continues to define his career in filmmaking.
