Theodore Shapiro

Biography:

Theodore Michael Shapiro, an American composer best known for his cinema themes, was born on September 29, 1971. He frequently works with directors Ben Stiller, Paul Feig, Jay Roach, Karyn Kusama, and Rawson Marshall Thurber. For his work on Stiller’s series Severance, he was awarded the 2022 and 2025 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. Shapiro is of Italian ancestry and was born in Washington, D.C. In 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in music from Brown University, and in 1995, he received a Master of Fine Arts in music composition from the Juilliard School.
