Teresa Mary Palmer is an Australian model and actress who was born on February 26, 1986. Palmer had supporting parts in movies like The Grudge 2 (2006), Bedtime Stories (2008), The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010), I Am Number Four, Take Me Home Tonight (both 2011), Knight of Cups (2015), Triple 9 (2016), and The Fall Guy (2024) after making her screen debut in Wolf Creek (2005).
She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a sad adolescent in the psychological drama film 2:37 (2006), for which she received an AACTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She was nominated for both the AACTA International Award for Best Supporting Actress and her second AACTA for her performance as Dorothy Schutte in the epic biographical war movie Hacksaw Ridge (2016). Palmer would go on to receive nominations for Ride Like a Girl (2019) and Berlin Syndrome (2017) in the former category. Palmer gained more notoriety as a scream queen thanks to her leading parts in the horror movies Warm Bodies (2013), Lights Out (2016), and The Twin (2022).
Palmer also co-produced, co-wrote, and starred in the drama film The Ever After (2014), directed by her husband, Mark Webber, as part of her expanding career. She is also well-known for her leading parts as Freya Heywood in the Disney+ psychological thriller miniseries The Clearing (2023), for which she was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama, and Diana Bishop in the Sky One and Sky Max fantasy drama series A Discovery of Witches (2018–2022).
