Biography:

Tanuja Chandra is a well-known Indian director, screenwriter, author, and filmmaker who made some unique contributions to the Hindi film industry and digital entertainment media. Tanuja Chandra started her career as a writer, having written award-winning films such as Zakhm, Tamanna, and Dil To Pagal Hai, and later made her directorial debut with the psychological thriller Dushman (1998) starring Kajol and Sanjay Dutt. Her other directing credits include Sangharsh, Sur – The Melody of Life, Hope and a Little Sugar, Zindaggi Rocks, Qarib Qarib Singlle, and Karwaan. In addition to the films, Tanuja Chandra ventured into the OTT world, producing the psychological thriller web series Hush Hush (2022) with an all-women cast, addressing themes such as friendship, secrecy, and crime. Famous for creating a powerful character of women, emotionally loaded plots, and a rich psychological story, Tanuja Chandra established herself as one of the most recognized directors of Indian cinema. Apart from her films, Tanuja Chandra is also an experienced author, whose novels and storytelling demonstrate her talent in writing just like her films.
