Indian novelist and translator Thathamangalam Damodaran Ramakrishnan was born in 1961 and is a former Chief Controller of Southern Railway. Sugandhi Enna Andal Devanayaki and Francis Itty Cora are two of his best-selling Malayalam novels. Both the Vayalar Award and the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award have been given to him.
He was born in 1961 into a Brahmin family in Eyyal village in Thrissur, India, the son of Sreedevi Antarjanam and Damodaran Elayathu. He earned his pre-degree and degree from UC College, Aluva, and finished his education at Kunnamkulam Boys High School and Erumappetty Government High School. He began working for Indian Railways in Salem in 1981 as a ticket collector. He spent a year and a half working in Kozhikode starting in 1982. He was employed in Madras and Salem in 1983 as a ticket examiner. In 1985, he relocated to Palghat. He started working as a controller at the Palghat Railway Divisional Office in 1995. From January 2006 to January 31, 2016, he was the Chief Controller of Southern Railways. On January 31, 2016, he left the military.
