Sudipto Sen, born on January 16 in Calcutta, hails from a Bengali family and had a strong inclination towards the world of cinema from an early age. Through a combination of fate and relentless hard work, he eventually emerged as one of the industry’s most renowned directors. Sudipto Sen has a penchant for non-vegetarian cuisine and occasionally enjoys cooking it himself.
His initial schooling took place at BT Road in Kolkata, but due to certain circumstances, he had to change schools and continued his education at Jalpaiguri Zilla School in West Bengal. Sudipto Sen holds academic qualifications including a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology.
Sudipto Sen made his entry into Bollywood with his directorial debut in the form of a documentary film titled ‘The Other Wealth’ in 1997. Following this, from 1998 to 2002, he served as a producer at the World Bank. In 2006, he directed his first English-language film, “The Last Monk,” which garnered numerous awards and brought him significant recognition in the industry.
Subsequently, Sudipto Sen continued to direct multiple films, including “Aasma” and “Lucknow Times.” In 2023, his directorial venture “The Kerala Story” not only garnered critical acclaim but also set new records in the industry.
