Sriram Raghavan
Biography:
Hindi film director and screenwriter Sriram Raghavan was born on June 22, 1963. He is mostly regarded as a neo-noir action thriller auteur. In 2004, Raghavan directed his first film, Ek Hasina Thi. After that, he directed the highly regarded Johnny Gaddaar (2007), which was a translation of Alain Reynaud-Fourton’s 1962 French novel Les mystifiés. The action spy movie Agent Vinod (2012), which starred Saif Ali Khan, was a commercial and critical flop. Based on Massimo Carlotto’s Death’s Dark Abyss, Raghavan’s 2015 follow-up Badlapur received favorable reviews and did moderately well at the box office. Andhadhun (2018), which narrates the tale of a blind pianist who unintentionally gets involved in the murder of a retired actor, raised Raghavan’s profile. The movie was a commercial success and won praise from critics. Among the many honors he has received are two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards.
