Biography:

Chandrashekar, known by his stage name Sihi Kahi Chandru, is a prolific Indian actor renowned for his work in Kannada cinema and television. With a career spanning decades, Chandru has left an indelible mark on the industry, appearing in over 500 films and numerous TV serials.

Born in 1962 on July 23rd, Chandru gained widespread recognition for his role alongside his wife, Sihi Kahi Geetha, in the immensely popular Doordarshan Kannada serial “Sihi Kahi” during the mid-1980s. Their on-screen chemistry and comedic timing endeared them to audiences, leading to their marriage in real life in 1990.

Chandru’s versatility as an actor extends beyond television, as he is also celebrated for his contributions to Kannada theatre. His comedic play “Neenaanaadre naaneenena?” has garnered acclaim for its adaptation of Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors.”

In addition to his acting prowess, Chandru presents the cooking TV show “Bombat Bhojana” on the Kannada channel Suvarna. He has showcased his comedic talent in various Kannada films, often sharing memorable scenes with co-stars like Bank Janardhan and Umashree.

Throughout his career, Chandru has portrayed a diverse range of roles, earning him the nickname “Sihi Kahi,” which translates to “sweet and bitter” in Kannada. His notable performances include appearances in films such as “Gowri Ganesha,” “Putakkana Highway,” and “Tenali Rama.”
