Sid Sriram

Biography:

Born on May 19, 1990, Sidharth Sriram is an American-raised Indian Carnatic musician, songwriter, playback singer, and music producer. He has experience as an R&B songwriter in the English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Marathi music industries. He frequently works with music directors and his sister Pallavi Sriram, a Bharatanatyam dancer.

Tamil Nadu’s Chennai is where Sid Sriram was born. At the age of one, he and his parents relocated to California, where he was raised in Fremont. His mother, Latha Sriram, a Carnatic music instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area, fostered his musical abilities. At the age of three, he began taking Carnatic music lessons.

At the same time, he began to listen to R&B. He enrolled in Berklee College of Music after graduating from Mission San Jose High School in 2008, where he earned a degree in music production and engineering. He has been traveling to India on a regular basis since graduating to perform Carnatic performances, such as Marghazhi Utsavam, which is part of the December music season. He returned to India after that and is now a resident of Chennai’s Mylapore neighbourhood.
