Shwetha Menon, born on 23 April 1974, is a versatile Indian personality recognized for her roles as an actress, model, television anchor, and beauty pageant titleholder. Crowned Femina Miss India Asia Pacific in 1994, she has made significant contributions to Malayalam and Hindi cinema, as well as Telugu and Tamil language films.
Shwetha Menon was born in Chandigarh to Malayali parents, T. V. Naranankutty and Sarada Menon. Her father served in the Indian Air Force, and she studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, East Hill, Kozhikode.
In her early career, Menon appeared in the Malayalam film “Anaswaram” (1991) and later explored modeling. She gained prominence by participating in and winning various beauty pageants, including becoming the first Gladrags female supermodel in 1994. Her Bollywood debut was in “Ishq” (1997), where her performance in the song “Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai” received attention. She appeared in over 30 Hindi films, including “Asoka” (2001), “Maqbool” (2003), and “Corporate” (2006).
In the mid-2000s, Menon returned to Malayalam cinema and garnered critical acclaim for her roles in “Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha” (2009) and “Salt N’ Pepper” (2011), winning Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actress.
