Actress Swachata Sanjiban Guha, better known by her stage as Swachhatoa Guha, hails from Kolkata, West Bengal, and currently resides in New Jersey. Lootera (2013) was her Bollywood debut.
West Bengal’s Ichapore is the birthplace of Swachata Guha. Sanjiban Guha, her father, works as an actor in Bengali cinema. She graduated with first class honors in acting from Rabindra Bharati University and a postgraduate degree in filmmaking and acting from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, from which they graduated in 2011. She has a solid foundation in theater. She has moved to New Jersey and is currently married to Sudipta Mallik.
Also known as Shirin, she has worked as a journalist for ABP News and as a professional scriptwriter for Zee Bangla. She is a trained dancer who debuted in Bollywood in the 2013 Vikramaditya Motwane-directed Hindi feature film Lootera. Additionally, she starred in “Kabuliwala” in Anurag Basu’s “Stories by Rabindranath Tagore.” Two highly discussed films are the English play “GIANT” and the short film “Khane mein kya hain”. She was a member of the international cast of the YouTube live theater production “The Show Must Go Online” during the COVID-19 pandemic.
