Shashank Shende

Biography:

Indian actor, screenwriter, director, and producer Shashank Shende is known for his work in Marathi and Hindi movies. He was honored with the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Marathi Actor. For his highly regarded film Baaplyok, he was also awarded the Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar for Best Actor. Shende was raised in a middle-class family in Pune until the tenth grade. After that, he spent two years in Ahmednagar before returning. He launched his own company after graduating from college. After being introduced to acting through the workshops of Satyadev Dubey, he and Sandesh Kulkarni, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Amruta Subhash, and Sonali Kulkarni founded their own experimental theater group, Samanvay. His dream was to become a director.

Shende has starred in several Marathi and Hindi-language motion pictures.At the 19th Pune International Film Festival, he won Best Actor for the movie Porga Majetay. He starred in the movie Khwada, which won two prizes at the 62nd National Film Awards. Additionally, the movie was screened at the Pune International Film Festival. His performance in Kaagar earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in Marathi. For Redu at the Maharashtra Rajya Chitrapat Mahotsav 2018, he received a nomination for the Best Actor Award.
