Shashank Raai

Biography:

Shashank Raai is an Indian filmmaker, director, producer, and creative producer who has carved out a name for himself as a director and producer of content for television, films, and web series. His career started in television production where he has been involved in the creative process behind some of the most popular television shows like Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year, Siya Ke Ram, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, and Vishkanya. Raai then ventured into the world of web content as the creator and producer of Raktanchal, a crime series. His directorial venture began with the Bhojpuri movie Sher Singh (2019), and later with the Hindi crime thriller web series Country Mafia (2022). Country Mafia was based on the real-life story of the illicit liquor trade in the northern part of India. With stories that are gritty and socially relevant and have solid regional flavor, Raai creates stories that are all about crime, politics, and power struggles.
