Sharada

Biography:

Sarada, an Indian actress and politician, was born Saraswati Devi. Sarada has won three National Awards and is most known for her performance in Malayalam and Telugu movies. She has also made a few appearances in Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi language movies.

Her other name is Urvasi Sarada; the Urvasi Award was formally named after her after she won the National Film Award for Best Actress. For her performances in Swayamvaram (1972), Nimajjanam (1977), and Thulabharam (1968), she was honored with three National Awards.

The Andhra Pradesh government awarded Sarada the NTR National Award in recognition of her services to Indian film. On June 12, 1945, Saraswati Devi, the future Thadiparthi Sarada, was born in Tenali, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. Satyavathi Devi and Venkateswar Rao are her parents, and they are farmers.

Her brother’s name is Mohan Rao. When Sarada was little, she was taken to live with her grandmother Kanakamma in Madras. Sarada characterizes her grandmother as a “tough disciplinarian” who, in her final years, “wouldn’t even let the heroes touch her” and who only permitted “Sunday rehearsals.”

At the age of six, Sarada began taking dancing classes. She used to act in religious festivities, including Dasara. She learned to dance as a result of her mother’s desire. To become a “big star in the cine field” was her mother’s dream.

She began performing in Telugu theater as she grew older. She made her movie debut in the Telugu film Kanyasulkam, in a small role. But after that, she went back to the theater and played a significant part in the Telugu adaptation of the Tamil drama Rakta Kanneeru. The drama was performed more than a hundred times in Tamil Nadu.
