Shamshuddin Ibrahim, professionally known as Shaam, is an Indian actor and model predominantly recognized for his work in Tamil and Telugu-language films. He started his career as a model before venturing into acting with the film 12B in 2001. Shaam gained prominence with lead roles in movies like Lesa Lesa (2003), Iyarkai (2003), and Ullam Ketkumae (2005). One of his noteworthy roles came in the Telugu film Kick (2009), earning him the nickname “Kick Shaam,” and subsequently leading to appearances in other significant Telugu films like Race Gurram (2014). After a break, he returned to Tamil cinema with movies like 6 (2013) and Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai (2015).
Shaam was born on April 4, 1977, in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, into a Tamil Muslim Rowther family. While his father hails from Madurai, his mother is from Tiruppathur. He grew up in Bengaluru and pursued his studies there. After completing his B Com, he pursued modeling with the aspiration of becoming an actor.
