Shamir Tandon, born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, is an Indian music composer and director known for his work in Indian cinema. He made his debut as a Music Director with Raveena Tandon’s ‘Stumped’ in 2003. Tandon is recognized for his contributions to movies like Page 3, Traffic Signal, Inkaar, Bal Ganesh, Mission Istaanbul, and Corporate. He has collaborated with legendary singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Jagjit Singh, and Manna Dey.
Shamir Tandon’s career began in the corporate sector, where he worked for firms like Kotak Mahindra and Birla Global. Later, he joined Virgin EMI, where he played a crucial role in marketing and distributing global acts. Over a nine-year tenure, he progressed from Marketing Manager to the CEO of Virgin EMI Indian Subcontinent.
Apart from his film compositions, Tandon has composed over 150 commercial jingles for major companies. He is the founder and managing director of ‘Music Boutique,’ a brand solutions company. Tandon curated the world’s first transgender band, 6 Pack Band, and later curated ‘isspeshal’ 6 Pack Band 2.0, consisting of children with special needs.
