Shailendra Singh is an Indian actor and playback singer. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he performed a number of Hindi songs along with a few Marathi ones.
On October 4, 1952, Shailendra Singh was born in Mumbai, India, into a Punjabi family. He completed his degree from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai after attending Hill Grange High School on Peddar Road.
After that, he enrolled in Pune’s Film and Television Institute of India to begin acting training. A Guru also taught him the basics of classical Hindustani music. Bobby gave him his big break as a playback vocalist in his second year at the FTII.
He and Asha Bhosle’s performance of “Jaane Do Na” from Saagar enhanced the sensuality of the song as a whole. He attempted acting in movies like Do Jasoos and Agreement (with Rekha), but both of those projects were box office failures.
Along with being a singer, he also starred with Aparna Sen in the Bengali film Ajasra Dhanyabaad. He was admitted to the hospital in 1994 because of a diabetic problem. “In the industry, there was talk that I had a heart attack and had passed away,” he claims. I survived. However, the rumors destroyed my career. He believes that singing is a stronger suit for him than acting.
