Seema G. Nair

Biography:

Seema G. Nair is an Indian actress prominent in Malayalam films and television series. She and her mother, Cherthala Sumathi, both received the Kerala State Amateur Drama Award.

Seema embarked on her artistic journey as a theater performer at the age of 17, debuting in Cochin Sangamithra’s play titled “Kanyakumariyil Oru Kadamkadha” in 1987. She boasts an impressive record of over 1000 stage performances. Her career transitioned from theater to TV serials and eventually to films. Her roles predominantly revolve around characters from middle or lower-class families. Her initial TV appearance was in the serial “Cherappayi Kadhakal,” wherein she portrayed the role of “Kocheroda.”

Beyond her acting career, Seema G. Nair is actively involved with charitable endeavors. She is a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Kerala division, a charitable organization in India. She has also taken part in telefilms and various TV shows, including being a participant in the reality show “Nakshathradeepangal” on Kairali TV and as a judge on the popular reality show “Rasikaraja No.1” on Surya TV. Her presence extends to talk shows such as “Valentines Corner,” “Valkkkanadi,” “Nammal Thammil,” and “The Sreekandan Nair Show.”

Acknowledging her contributions to social welfare, Seema G. Nair was honored with the inaugural Mother Teresa Award by the Kerala Art Lovers Association ‘Kala.’ This accolade recognizes her as a role model in the realm of social service. The award, accompanied by a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation, was presented by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at an event held in Raj Bhavan.
