Savita Prabhune, born on 18 April 1964, is a renowned Indian soap opera actress. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Aai in Ekta Kapoor’s popular soap opera “Kkusum.” Another significant role in her career is that of Sulochana Karanjkar in Ekta Kapoor’s Indian soap opera “Pavitra Rishta.” Additionally, she played the lead roles in “Jawai Vikat Ghene Aahe” and “Khulta Kali Khulena.”
Savita Prabhune’s contributions to television include replacing Asawari Joshi as Gayatri in the Marathi TV Serial “Mala Sasu Havi” and taking over the role of Kanta Joshi in the Hindi TV Serial “Anupamaa” after actress Madhavi Gogate. She also replaced actress Surekha Kudachi in the Marathi TV Serial “Swabhiman – Shodh Astitvacha” as Suparna Purushottam Suryavanshi.
Having started her career with small roles in Marathi and Hindi films in the early 1990s, Savita Prabhune is an alumna of the National School of Drama, graduating in 1983. Her breakthrough came when she was cast by Ekta Kapoor in the supporting role of Aai in “Kkusum,” earning her critical acclaim.
