Shahir Ceetheragath, also known as Sathya, is an Indian actor who mainly works in Tamil films. He started filming for “Kadhal 2 Kalyanam” in 2008, but the movie was never released. His first film to hit the screens was “Puthagam” in 2013. However, he gained recognition with the romantic drama “Amara Kaaviyam” in 2014, directed by Jeeva Shankar.
Sathya and his brother Arya looked at many scripts before choosing “Kadhal 2 Kalyanam” for Sathya’s debut. In the film, Sathya was set to play a radio jockey. Before filming, he even went to Anupam Kher’s acting school and spent time with professional radio jockeys to prepare for the role. However, “Kadhal 2 Kalyanam” faced production issues and didn’t release, so “Puthagam” became Sathya’s first film.
Despite mixed reviews for his debut, Arya decided to produce Sathya’s next film, “Amara Kaaviyam.” Sathya portrayed a schoolboy named Jeeva and had to lose over 10 kg for the role. The film, based on a real event, received positive feedback for its music and had a successful release in 2014. Sathya’s performance earned mixed reviews, with some critics praising his growth into the role while others felt he was more convincing as a brooding young man.
In 2015, Sathya appeared in K. S. Thangasamy’s “Ettuthikkum Madhayaanai,” which started filming in July 2013.
