Dhayanidhi started his career in cinema music by working with A. R. Rahman as a keyboard programmer. He spent two years with Rahman, helping to produce the albums Kadal (2013) and Lingaa (2014). He was also a TV commercial composer, most notably for an advertisement for the Indian reality show Bigg Boss 8. After being suggested to the producer by the main actor Santhanam, Dhayanidhi made his composing debut with the 2016 movie Inimey Ippadithan. When Santhanam was searching for a debutant and Kaushik, a Sony Music India employee, informed him about Santhosh, he learned about Dhayanidhi.
