Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara are a duo of film score composers from India. Initially, Sanchit Balhara embarked on his career as an individual composer and gained recognition for his notable composition in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2015 epic historical romance film, “Bajirao Mastani.” Sanchit’s elder brother, Ankit Balhara, joined him in 2018, and since then, they have been collaborating as a duo, creating music together for films like “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.”
Both brothers were born in Rohtak, Haryana, India, into a family with a strong background in music and filmmaking. Their father, Bhal Singh Balhara, is a singer, actor, and filmmaker associated with the Haryanvi film industry, while their mother, Mukta Chaudhary, is a national-level athlete.
Sanchit pursued his studies in classical music in London. His breakthrough in film score composition came with “Bajirao Mastani,” where his work received widespread acclaim within the industry. He was honoured with awards such as IIFA, Music Mirchi, GIMA, and Zee Cine Awards for his outstanding contribution to the music of “Bajirao Mastani.”
