Sai Prashanth (June 7, 1985 – March 13, 2016) was an Indian actor known for his work in Tamil films and television serials. He appeared in movies like “Barathi,” “Aintham Padai,” “Thegidi,” “Neram” (2013), and “Vadacurry” (2014). His schooling was at Shrine Vailankanni Senior Secondary School, T.Nagar, and Sri Ahobila Math Oriental Higher Secondary School, West Mambalam. His father was the Chief Executive of Chennai Doordharshan TV channel.
Sai’s career began with a role as a child with drawing skills in the serial “Vidya” on DDK. He later portrayed the young poet Bharathi in the film “Bharathi” by Gnana Rajasekaran, IAS. He transitioned to a role in “Veettukku Veedu Looty” suggested by director Thangarbachan. Sai Prashanth’s stint as a video jockey on Sun Music led him to television serials, where he often played negative roles, earning him the nickname “Junior Nambiar.”
In addition to his acting career, Sai participated in reality dance shows like “Maanada Mayilada” and “Jodi Number One.” He hosted shows such as “Dhil Dhil Manadhil.” He also appeared in supporting roles in films like “Mundhinam Paartheney” (2010), “Neram” (2013), and “Thegidi” (2014), and portrayed the lead antagonist in “Vadacurry” (2014).
