Saba Azad is an Indian actor, theatre director, and musician who was born Saba Singh Grewal on November 1, 1985. Raaga, one of the leads in the independent film Dil Kabaddi (2008), marked her Bollywood debut. She gained notoriety for playing the lead in the 2011 romantic comedy Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge. In the 2016 Y-Films web series Ladies Room, she also portrayed Dingo. She is one half of Madboy/Mink, an electronic band duo located in Mumbai.
In 2008, she made her Bollywood debut opposite Rahul Bose in Anil Senior’s Dil Kabaddi. In Y-Films Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, she played the lead part of Preity Sen, opposite up-and-coming actors Saqib Saleem and Nishant Dahiya.
Founded in 2012 with actor and musician Imaad Shah, Azad is a singer and musician in the Indian indie electronic band Madboy/Mink. In 2010, Azad founded her own theatrical group, The Skins, and directed her debut play, Lovepuke, which debuted in September 2010 at NCPA’s experimental theatre.
After relocating from Delhi to Mumbai, Azad performed in a two-man play at the Prithvi Theatre that was directed by Makarand Deshpande. She has appeared in print ads for Clean & Clear, Westside, and Amway, as well as ads for Cadbury, Pond’s, Maggi, Tata Sky, Google, Kit Kat, Vodafone, Sunsilk, Nescafe, and Airtel, among many more.
