S. Sashikanth is a Chennai, Tamil Nadu-born Indian film producer, architect, director, and businessman. After completing his undergraduate studies in architecture, Sashikanth founded the Chennai-based design company Space Scape in 2002, which went on to work on important projects including the British Council as well as other residential and commercial building designs. Through the founding of a production company, YNOT Studios, and the 2010 release of his debut film, Thamizh Padam, Sashikanth later transitioned into the film industry.
Behindwoods has referred to Sashikanth as a producer of “gutsy new-wave cinema,” and The Hindu has called his films Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, Thamizh Padam, and Va “three of the most creative films in recent times.” Sashikanth has made it clear that he wants to see himself as a creative person.
