Rohit Kalia is an Indian Australian actor, model, and voiceover artist known for his work in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu language films and television serials. He achieved recognition by winning the inaugural Mr. India Australia title in Sydney, Australia, in 2014. Additionally, he served as a Body Fit Model for the Big W clothing brand in Sydney in June 2018 and featured in web commercials for the Opal card for Transport for NSW in Sydney in August 2019.
Rohit’s diverse career includes playing the lead role of Lord Krishna at the ISWA Diwali Festival in Perth in November 2020 and participating in various theater and festival shows, including the Fringe World Festival and Short and Sweet festival in Perth in 2021. He has also lent his voice to podcasts for the Guardian Australia, notably in episodes titled “Rohingya United” and “Tampa Affair” from August to October 2021. In 2022, he starred in the Road Safety Commission’s Belt Up campaign, featuring as a cricket player in advertisements that aired across Australian television, on-demand TV, radio, social media, and roadside billboards.
Born in Pune to a Punjabi family, Rohit pursued a career in acting after completing an acting course at Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares School in 2010. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. Throughout his career, he has acted in corporate films, theater productions, television programs, and feature films, including a lead role in the Telugu film “NRI – Now Return to India” in 2013 and the lead role in the English feature film “Love & Love Only” in 2015. The latter film, directed by Julian Karikalan, received international recognition and awards, including two honors at the International Film and Entertainment Festival of Australia in 2015.
Rohit Kalia has also been honored as a Chief Guest at the 3rd Film Festival held in New Delhi by the Indian SGF affiliated with the International Scout and Guide Fellowship in 2021.
