Ranjitha

Biography:

Ranjitha, originally named Sri Valli, is a former Indian actress known for her work in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films.

In 1991, under the screen name Madhu Bala Kadapa Reddemma, Ranjitha made her debut in Telugu cinema with a film written by the Parchuri Brothers, followed by her second film, “Prema Panjaram,” in the same year. Although these initial ventures did not achieve commercial success, her career took a positive turn with the film “Nadodi Thendral,” directed by Bharathiraja, which provided her with a strong platform in the industry.

In her personal life, Ranjitha married an Indian Army Major in 2000 but retired from acting after their wedding. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2002. She made a comeback to the entertainment industry in 2003, taking on supporting roles in films and lead roles in television shows until 2010. In 2013, she chose to pursue sannyasa under Swami Nithyananda.

A controversy involving Ranjitha arose in 2010 when Sun TV broadcasted video recordings purportedly showing her and Nithyananda in a bedroom. Both individuals vehemently denied the authenticity of the video, claiming it was fabricated, and accused Sun TV of extortion. A Forensic Sciences Laboratory in Bengaluru confirmed the video’s resemblance to Nithyananda and Ranjitha. In response, Ranjitha filed a complaint with the High Court of Karnataka against news channels that had violated her privacy and dignity. Subsequently, various news channels were ordered to apologize to her for their actions.
