Biography:

Rafi–Mecartin is a prominent Indian filmmaking duo known for their work in the Malayalam film industry. Comprising directors Rafi and Mecartin, they are celebrated for their contributions as writers, directors, and screenwriters, especially in the comedy genre. The duo has delivered several successful films that have become milestones in Malayalam cinema. Known for their engaging storytelling and humorous scripts, Rafi–Mecartin has left a lasting mark on the industry with their entertaining and commercially successful projects.

Rafi’s younger brother, Shafi, is also a prominent film director, and Rafi is the nephew of Siddique from the iconic Siddique–Lal duo. Rafi has scripted and directed several hit films, including Puthukkottayile Puthumanavalan (1995), Superman (1997), Punjabi House (1998), Thenkasipattanam (2000), Chathikkatha Chanthu (2004), Pandippada (2005), and Hallo (2007). The duo has also written scripts for other directors, contributing to films such as Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava (1995), Aadyathe Kanmani (1995), Dilliwala Rajakumaran (1996), Kusruthi Kuruppu (1998), One Man Show (2001), Thilakkam (2003), and Mayavi (2007), among others.
