R. T. Neason is an accomplished Indian film director who began his career as an assistant director on various films, including “Iraniyan,” “Prematho Raa,” “Thavasi,” and “Ondagona Baa.” He also collaborated with Director Bhagyaraj as a screenplay writer and contributed to the story and screenplay of “Velayudham,” among others.
In terms of his personal life, R. T. Neason was born in Bodinayakkanur, Tamil Nadu. He received his education at Sainik School Amaravathinagar in Tamil Nadu, India. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Madras University and pursued specialization in direction and screenplay at the Film and Television Institute of Madras. Neason is married to Lakshmi, and the couple has two daughters named Adithi and Akshara.
His directorial journey commenced with the film “Muruga” in 2007, featuring actors like Ashok, Shruti Sharma, Samiksha, and Vadivelu. The film, accompanied by music from Karthik Raja, received positive feedback upon its release on 7 March 2007, although it achieved moderate success.
Neason’s second directorial venture was “Jilla,” which starred Vijay, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal in prominent roles, with Niveda Thomas in a supporting role. The film was released on 10 January 2014, coinciding with the Pongal festival and competing with Ajith Kumar’s film “Veeram.”
As of now, R. T. Neason has directed two films and has not undertaken any new film projects since “Jilla.”
