Pranav Mohanlal (born 13 July 1990) is an Indian actor and playback singer active in Malayalam cinema. The son of renowned actor Mohanlal, he made his acting debut as a child in Onnaman (2002), followed by a lead role in Punarjani (2003), which earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist.
After stepping away from cinema to focus on his education, Pranav earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of New South Wales. He cultivated a passion for travel and books during this period, maintaining a private lifestyle and avoiding media attention. In 2015, he worked as an assistant director with Jeethu Joseph on Papanasam and Life of Josutty.
Pranav made his comeback in the lead role of Aadhi (2018), an action thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph, where he impressed audiences with parkour stunts. The film became a box office hit and one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year, earning him the SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actor. He also debuted as a singer-songwriter with the song “Gypsy Women” for the film.
His later roles included Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu (2019) and a cameo as young Kunjali Marakkar IV in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (2020). His performance in Hridayam (2022) received critical acclaim, and the film became a major commercial success. Pranav reunited with director Vineeth Sreenivasan for Varshangalkku Shesham (2024).
